The UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition represents an exciting chapter in the ongoing evolution of URWERK’s timepieces, combining innovative design with technical sophistication. This new release in the UR-100V collection brings forth a color that is both unique and mesmerizing—a shade of green that subtly shifts in the light, making it not quite green, not exactly grey, but something entirely new.

This sophisticated, metallic ash-green tone has been carefully crafted to embody an understated elegance, and it is the perfect choice for the brand’s latest creation. URWERK, a company known for its pioneering approach to watchmaking, continues to push the boundaries of design and mechanics with each new model.

The UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition is a direct result of this relentless pursuit of excellence. The watch features a full titanium construction, enhancing both its visual appeal and durability. As always, the design team, led by co-founder Martin Frei, has brought their artistic vision to life with this edition, while master watchmaker Felix Baumgartner has ensured that the watch’s mechanical prowess is as extraordinary as its design.

The UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ is more than just a visually stunning timepiece; it is a marvel of modern watchmaking, featuring the signature elements that have made the 100V collection so highly regarded. One of the standout features of this watch is its satellite hour system.

Inspired by a 17th-century clock, this technology is brought into the future by URWERK, replacing traditional hands with a satellite that travels across a graduated arc to indicate the minutes. Once the hour is complete, a new satellite bearing the next hour appears, creating a poetic, precise, and mechanical display of time.

This unique timekeeping method continues the brand’s tradition of using innovative approaches to indicate time, ensuring that every second is measured with both beauty and accuracy.

The aesthetic and technical sophistication of the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition is not limited to the dial. The watch also features two unique counters that add a fascinating layer to its function.

The first counter measures the 555 kilometers the Earth travels every 20 minutes as it rotates on its axis, while the second counter tracks the 35,740 kilometers the Earth covers in the same period as it orbits the Sun.

These counters are a unique touch that elevates the UR-100V beyond just a tool for measuring time. The watch becomes a silent observer of the Earth’s movement in the vastness of space, reflecting the brand’s commitment to merging science with artistry.

URWERK’s attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident in every component of the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition. The watch features a sand-blasted, shot-blasted titanium case that exudes industrial elegance.

The case’s dimensions are perfectly balanced, with a width of 41mm, a length of 49.70mm, and a thickness of just 14mm. This gives the watch an ideal profile, making it comfortable to wear while maintaining a commanding presence on the wrist. The case is topped with sapphire crystal, offering a clear view of the intricate dial and mechanical components inside.

The watch is powered by the self-winding UR 12.02 movement, a caliber designed and assembled by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton under the guidance of Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei. This movement, with 40 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), provides a 48-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance.

The movement’s construction is just as impressive as its aesthetic. It includes satellite hours made of beryllium-bronze Geneva crosses, an aluminum carousel, and triple baseplates made of ARCAP alloy.

These components are meticulously finished with circular graining, sand-blasting, and shot-blasting, enhancing the mechanical beauty of the watch. The chamfered screw heads and the Super-LumiNova®-painted hours and minutes further highlight the attention to detail that goes into every URWERK creation.

The watch’s versatility is enhanced by its titanium bracelet, which consists of 32 sand-blasted and shot-blasted links. The material choice not only contributes to the watch’s lightweight and durable design but also complements its industrial aesthetic. The bracelet adds a sense of unity between the case and the overall design, making the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition a cohesive and visually striking timepiece.

The limited-edition nature of the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ makes it all the more desirable. With only 35 pieces available, this timepiece is as exclusive as it is impressive. At a price of CHF 58,000 (excluding taxes), the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ is positioned as a luxury watch for discerning collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the fusion of art and science in horology.

Its unique features, including the satellite hour system and Earth counters, make it a standout piece for anyone who values the intersection of innovative technology and aesthetic design.

URWERK’s mission to redefine traditional watchmaking continues with the UR-100V ‘Hunter Green’ edition. The brand’s ability to merge avant-garde design with cutting-edge mechanics is showcased in this timepiece, which pushes the boundaries of what a watch can be.

By exploring new materials, techniques, and design concepts, URWERK has created a watch that is not only a functional timekeeping instrument but also a work of art. The watch’s connection to space, through its Earth counters, elevates it beyond a mere tool for telling time, transforming it into a celebration of the universe’s vastness and the passage of time itself.
