Haute Time publishes luxury watch journalism for collectors, enthusiasts and the watch industry. These standards describe how we report, source, review and correct our work.
Sourcing
Reporting is based on first-hand access wherever possible: hands-on time with the watch, interviews with brand executives and watchmakers, on-site coverage of fairs and auctions, and primary documents such as brand technical specifications and auction results. When we rely on another publication or a third party, we say so and link to the source.
Reviews and hands-on coverage
We distinguish between three kinds of coverage: news (a release or announcement, often based on brand-supplied material), hands-on (the writer has physically handled the watch), and review (extended wear and assessment). Prices are those provided by the brand or retailer at the time of publication and are subject to change.
Independence and disclosure
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team and are not for sale. Sponsored content, paid partnerships and affiliate arrangements are labelled as such and are never presented as independent editorial. Travel, event access or loan watches provided by a brand are disclosed within the article when they materially affect the coverage. Advertising relationships do not influence review conclusions.
Accuracy and fact-checking
Technical claims — movement references, complications, materials, case dimensions, power reserve, production numbers and pricing — are checked against brand documentation before publication. Editors review copy prior to publishing.
Corrections policy
We correct errors promptly and transparently. If you believe something we published is inaccurate, contact us at hautetime.com/contact-us with the article URL and the specific issue. Substantive corrections are noted in the article with the date of the update; minor typographical fixes are made without a note. Articles that are meaningfully updated after publication carry an updated timestamp.
Use of artificial intelligence
Articles are written and edited by people. AI tools may be used for research assistance, transcription or production tasks; they are not used to generate published editorial copy without human authorship and editorial review.
Anonymous sources
We prefer named sources. Anonymity is granted only where a source faces professional risk and the information is material and independently corroborated where possible.
