Of all the complications, the tourbillon must be the most mesmerizing. It is therefore not surprising that brands also make this complication visible from the dial side so that whoever is wearing it, can fully enjoy it. For others, this is not enough, and they like to take the tourbillon to a whole other level;

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon
Roger Dubuis doubles down by fitting its Excalibur Spider Pirelli with not one, but two flying tourbillons. They are connected through a differential for an even more precise timekeeping. While the watch looks very avant-garde, with is skeletonized movement and titanium case with a black DLC-coating, Roger Dubuis also utilises old school craftsmanship to create it. Due to its exceptional high finishing, it meets the requirements of the ‘Geneva Seal’, which is proudly displayed at six o’clock between the two tourbillons.

Richard Mille RM 53-01 Tourbillon Pablo Mac Donough

Richard Mille RM 53-01 Tourbillon Pablo Mac Donough
A tourbillon and one of the most volatile sports in the world; it doesn’t sound like a good combination yet Richard Mille makes it happen. He did so for Pablo Mac Donough, one of the most accomplished polo players in the world, and long-time Richard Mille ambassador. By creating the movement like a suspension bridge, the watch can withstand accelerations of over 5.000 g’s. Thanks to a unique laminated crystal and a Carbon TPT case is the RM 53-01 extremely robust and can handle anything that can happen during a professional polo match with ease.

Breguet Double Tourbillon

As the inventor of the tourbillon does Breguet have a special relationship with this complication. While they still offer it in a more traditional layout, yet technically upgraded, they take on a completely different approach with the Double Tourbillon 5347. Here the tourbillons play an active role in not only the regulating function of the watch but also that of telling the time. The bridge that secures them also serves as the hour hand and thus makes a complete rotation every twelve hours. Set in a dial which is hand-engraved on a rose engine, this watch gives a different spin on a traditional complication.

Greubel Forsey Art Piece

Greubel Forsey Art Piece Edition Historique
Greubel Forsey is a brand that almost always puts the tourbillon at the center of its creations. This is also the case with the Art Piece Edition Historique, where a double axis tourbillon inclined at 30°, performs it’s ‘dance’ surrounded by a titanium main plate with a blue finish. Because Greubel Forsey dedicated plenty of space to the tourbillon, it can be admired in full glory, while the hour, minute and power reserve indication are set more to the side. It turns the Art Piece Edition Historique in a very exceptional watch, as well as a tribute to one of the most mesmerizing complications you can find in a watch.
