Haute Time had the opportunity to sit down and take a look at the new watches launched at SIHH from A. Lange & Sohne this year. The watch has been getting a lot of buzz lately, as a lot of fine watch lovers have been requesting the pieces, as we were very excited to sit down with the team, and get an inside look at the watches. The first watch, which we were not able to see, but they had a huge clock in the walk way in the book, was the A. Lange & Söhne Grande Complication, which will run over $1.9 Million euros. Only six watches will be made, and this is one of the most anticipated watches of 2013.

One of the things we like best about A. Lange & Sohne, is that they produce limited quantity of watches, but they also produce some of the most complex pieces in the industry. Here are the pieces they launched for 2013:


1. Lange & Söhne Grosse Lange 1: The watch was presented last year at SIHH with a totally new manufacture calibre, developed from scratch. The model this year has variations in pink and yellow gold, along with platinum. The watch this year has a blackened silver dial, and its case is in 18-carat white gold.

2. A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar: This watch has two amazing complications: split-second chronograph and a perpetual calendar. This piece also use a lot of functions from the original pocket watches.


3. A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar: Available in pink and white gold, and now in platinum. The dial is about to indicate the time, date, day of week, month, and the moon phase.


4. A. Lange & Söhne UP/Down. This watch’s name, 1815 UP/Down, refers to the birth year of Ferdinand A. Lange and to the brand’s iconic UP/Down power-reserve indicator, a device that was first used in pocket watches.. The new watch has a power reserve on the left-hand subsidiary dial while the seconds dial is on the opposite side.

5. Grande Lange 1 “Lumen”: Limited edition of 200 watches, the watch is able to be seen in the dark because of its luminous surfaces.
