The announcement of the pre-SIHH models always feels like Christmas is coming early! These previews most certainly wet the appetite, and are a sign of great things to come! Among the brands that participate at the SIHH, Cartier, Ulysse Nardin, and Hermès have already given us a taste what to expect this January.

Among them, it is the Marine Torpilleur Military that immediately draws your attention with its 44mm stainless steel case, which houses Ulysse Nardin’s chronometer certified manufacture caliber UN-118. Limited to 300 pieces each, this watch is available with either a black or an egg-shell dial with Arabic numerals.

With the other new introductions, Ulysse Nardin shows off another one of their area’s of expertise: enamel! The Marine Tourbillon Blue Grand Feu places this tempting material on a guilloche dial, with the flying tourbillon prominently placed at six o’clock. As a full-blown, and very innovative, manufacture, Ulysse Nardin makes the tourbillon, its Silicium escapement and spring, as well as the rest of the movement, completely in-house. By putting all this beauty in a 43mm stainless steel case, the price can remain pleasant, at a very competitive $28.000,-

Last, but most certainly not least, is the Classico Manufacture Grand Feu. Offered with a white or black enamel dial, and contrasting hands, it shows the classic side of Ulysse Nardin. This is even amplified by the 40mm stainless steel case and the slender Roman numerals on the dial. Inside ticks Ulysse Nardin’s manufacture caliber UN-320. Both versions are priced at $8.800,-

In 2018 Hermès is trading in Baselworld for the SIHH, and its very first pre-SIHH release is the Arceau Chrono Titane. It is a remarkable watch, that shows off the sportive side of the legendary, asymmetrical design that was created in 1978 by Hermès artistic director Henri d’Origny. The 41mm case made out of titanium, combined with a black dial with red accents, gives the watch an almost military look, while the slant Arabic numerals add a touch of elegance. The watch it powered by an automatic chronograph movement and comes on either a black or natural colored Barenia calfskin strap, fitted with a folding clasp.

In the upcoming weeks, more annoucements of pre-SIHH models are expected, so keep a close look at Haute Time!
