Last year after Baselworld I wrote an article about the many beautiful blue dials that caught my eye. This trend continues to live on, as also at this years SIHH, there where blue dials galore, including some very special one!

Vacheron Constantin Métiers d'Art Aérostiers - Bagnols 1785

Vacheron Constantin proved this SIHH that a watch with a hot air balloon on the dial is incredibly cool! As part of their Métiers d’Art collection, they have introduced five limited editions, which pay tribute to the very first hot air balloons in the world. All have a different color, and the Bagnols 1785 is the one that has blue. This gives the impression that the detailed hot air balloon is indeed flying through the sky.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “150 Years”

Part of the imposing line-up of IWC’s Jubilee collection is also the Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “150 Years”.  Housed in an oversized 46.2mm case, and fitted with a contrasting black alligator strap, is that beautiful blue dial, which its annual calendar functions presented in line at the top. This feature makes this watch not only stand out among other annual calendars, but it also makes it very legible and easy to read, and that happened to be the first priority of any pilots watch!

Piaget Altiplano Tourbillon stone maquetery

Yes, Piaget had more novelties this year than just the new Altiplano Ultimate 910P and the Altiplano Ultimate Concept. They also launched two new Altiplano Flying Tourbillons with stone marquetry dials. One of them uses Lapis Lazuli, which gives the watch a unique appearance. To make this Altiplano Flying Tourbillon, even more, an eyecatcher, did Piaget set the white gold case with diamonds.

Girard Perregaux Laureato Chronograph

While steel is still the ruling material for sports watches, Girard-Perregaux also launched the Laureato Chronograph in stunning pink gold. What made it even more beautiful was that they paired this with a blue dial and alligator strap. The contrast between these two colors made the watch even more spectacular.

Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision

Ulysse Nardin expanded its Freak-collection with its very first automatic model and gave it a beautiful blue dial in the process.  This is a very nice match with the silicium balance wheel which uses nickel mass element and stabilizing micro-blades, whose upper bridge is styled like the hull of a boat, fitting in with its nautical theme.
