Haute Time’s Hottest Watches Of 2021 Part II
The pandemic has not slowed down the development of new watches. Also this year, many brands launched new creations, proving that creativity and technical advancement has not been halted. This resulted in captivating watches that represent, yet also defy, time, like the following;
Pink Gold Passion: Four Watches For Autumn
Autumn is a special time of the year. This is, in particular, the case when it is an "Indian Summer." With the colors of the leaves already changing but the weather still warm, it creates a unique atmosphere. The following four watches are perfect for this occasion. While they differ quite a bit, they all share that their cases are made from pink gold, giving them a rich, golden luster.
Grand Seiko Captures The Beauty Of A Japanese Winter In New Spring Drive
Grand Seiko finds a lot of inspiration in nature around its Shinshu Watch Studio in Japan, the place where all Spring Drive models come to life. For their latest model, the brand captured the spirit of Shizuri-yuki. This is the natural phenomenon when freshly fallen snow cascades down from the branches, creating a spectacular play of light. As we have grown accustomed of Grand Seiko, they translated this beauty in the most sophisticated way in a timepiece, in which design and craftsmanship go hand in hand.
Grand Seiko Introduces Two Stunning New Spring Drive Models
To commemorate the company's founding 140 years ago, Grand Seiko is adding another two models to its anniversary collection. Both are powered by Caliber 9RA2, the innovative Spring Drive movement that Grand Seiko developed for the occasion. It takes this unique technology to new heights with a slimmer design, thanks to a redesign and repositioning of many parts. Thanks to two mainspring barrels, the caliber has a power reserve of an impressive 120 hours, which it indicates on the back of the watch. The IC has also been updated and comes with a built-in temperature sensor. This allows for an accuracy of around 10 seconds per month.
Grand Seiko Captures The Beauty Of The Night Sky In New Limited Edition
The watchmakers of Grand Seiko's Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri have created yet another masterpiece to celebrate Seiko's 140th anniversary. Named SBGZ007, it does remind of the SBGZ001, mainly thanks to its textured case made of platinum. The texture itself is, however, quite different. The artisans of Grand Seiko took inspiration from the night sky over their manufacture and decorated the Zaratsu polished case with a star-like pattern. This further highlights the slim and elegant profile of the case, which has a diameter of 38.5mm and is only 9.8mm thick.

This year, it was 160 years ago that the founder of (Grand) Seiko was born in central Tokyo. He did so in 1881, at the age of 21, focussing initially on importing timepieces, but later would start producing them himself. With this, he laid the foundation for one of the most formidable brands in watchmaking.

So You Like Steel Watches With Blue Dials?
Among all the trends threading through the luxury watch landscape today, there is one that is emerging as the most popular: stainless steel watches with blue dials. Even watch manufactures that have historically stayed away from this style are breaking from brand tradition and following suit. As day-to-day wardrobes get more casual and offices continue to embrace relaxed dress codes, it’s only natural that watch designs shadow the same sentiment by swapping out precious metals for hardier ones and opting for cooler colors. The vibe may be easy-going but the design, quality, and features of these four stainless steel luxury watches with blue dials are unmistakably top-tier.
