As far as New Year’s resolutions go, aiming for a smaller number on the scale is a popular one. But we’ll leave the diet and exercise tips to the experts and focus on what we do best—outline some topnotch luxury timepieces! The use of titanium in watches is becoming more predominant thanks to its impressive strength-to-weight ratio. Titanium is just as strong as stainless steel but almost double in strength. So if you want a tough timepiece that doesn’t feel heavy on the wrist, check out these four lightweight titanium watches.

Titanium Watches: Bulgari Octo L’Originale Velocissimo Chronograph

Bulgari Octo L’Originale Velocissimo Chronograph

Although the Bulgari Octo line, characterized by its modern eight-sided dial and case, only made its debut in 2012, it has quickly become the brand’s flagship men’s watch collection with plenty of different styles and complications to be had. One of our favorites is the sleek Bulgari Octo L’Originale Velocissimo Chronograph with a 41mm matte titanium case with a matching dial and a black rubber strap. “Velocissimo” is the Italian word for “fastest,” in reference to its high-frequency (5Hz) automatic chronograph movement, visible through the exhibition caseback.

titanium watches: Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium Bracelet

Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium Bracelet

Not to be mistaken for the brand new Big Bang Integral collection, this Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium Bracelet has been a part of the brand’s catalog for some time now. Featuring the familiar Big Bang case silhouette measuring 45mm in diameter and equipped with rounded chronograph pushers and a round bezel with exposed screws, the watch is surprisingly light for its size. The polished and satin-finished titanium case is fitted with a satin-finished titanium bracelet—but the bracelet can easily be switched out for another strap style with the quick-release pushers.

titanium watches: Zenith Defy Inventor

Zenith Defy Inventor

Housing the groundbreaking Zenith Oscillator (which replaces approximately 30 parts of a standard regulator with a single silicon component) that made its debut in the Zenith Defy Lab watch in 2018, the Zenith Defy Inventor model is the evolution of this technical advancement. The Defy Inventor sports a 44mm titanium case topped with a textured Aeronith (an aluminum composite material) bezel and includes a blue opened-worked dial to witness the dizzying speed at which the high-frequency (18Hz) Caliber 9100 movement beats.

titanium watches: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Ultra Light

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Ultra Light”

Lightweight is the name of the game for the new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Ultra Light,” which weighs a mere 55 grams (1.94 ounces). The timepiece is built to be a true sports watch in function—not just a loosely named genre— meant to be worn during gameplay. The ergonomic Gamma titanium 41mm case features a telescopic crown, which can be stored inside the case to get out of the way when necessary. The dial is fashioned from grade 5 titanium, the bezel is ceramic, and the “Ultra Light” comes with two straps, rubber and fabric.
