The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is the latest coach-build model unveiled by the British luxury automobile maker.

The Boat Tail marks a seminal moment for Rolls-Royce as it ushers in a generation of coach-building as a permanent fixture to the luxury brand’s portfolio. According to the auto maker, “Boat Tail represents a collaborative exploration of luxury, design, and culture between the marque and commissioning clients.

The Boat Tail does not merely set itself apart immediately upon first impression, but its features further highlight why it is that Rolls-Royce has been the go-to auto maker for elegant and exclusive coach-building commissions such as this. The Boat Tail branding was initially used for a coach-built series in the 1920s and 1930s. Its name derives from there car’s distinctive rear end, which mimics a J-class yacht’s hull.
