When Jaeger-LeCoultre reintroduced the iconic Polaris name in 2018, it marked a triumphant return to the world of modern sporty-chic watches. Now, in 2023, the Polaris Chronograph evolves further with two distinct dials that encapsulate the exceptional craftsmanship residing within the Manufacturer. Demonstrating the versatility of this sophisticated and refined sports timepiece, each new Polaris Chronograph model comes with interchangeable straps, enabling an effortless shift in style and attitude.

The latest Polaris Chronograph dials exhibit a remarkable richness, enhanced by the lacquered surfaces that infuse them with boldness and allure. The deep blue dial exudes an air of elegance, while the warm grey variant – a novel addition to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s palette – embodies a sportier essence. The intricate construction of the dial comprises a central disc, a middle ring with applied hour markers, and an outer ring housing the tachymeter scale. The gradual shift in lacquer color from light to dark on the central disc and hour ring contributes to an alluring visual depth.

The dial design of the new Polaris Chronograph remains both timeless and intuitive, featuring a central chronograph seconds hand for precise timekeeping. The 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and the sub-dial at 9 o’clock, now featuring a running seconds display, create a harmonious layout. The bold dial aesthetics are perfectly complemented by the watch’s 42mm steel case, which embodies Polaris design elements – sleek lines, curved lugs, a slim bezel, a domed crystal, and a juxtaposition of brushed and polished surfaces.

Beneath the sapphire crystal case-back, the heartbeat of the Polaris Chronograph is the caliber 761 movement – a true testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking excellence. This self-winding movement is a paragon of high performance and mechanical elegance, equipped with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism with a vertical clutch and an impressive 65-hour power reserve. The entire movement is meticulously crafted in-house at the Manufacture in Le Sentier, nestled in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux.

The Polaris line masterfully marries the dynamic capabilities and pragmatic functions of a sports watch with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s signature elegance. Paying homage to the Maison’s iconic diving watches of the 1960s, the Polaris Chronograph captures their sporting essence and reinterprets their vintage charm through a contemporary lens. This timepiece effortlessly transitions from a casually elegant accessory for daily wear to a high-performance sports companion, exemplifying Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to both style and functionality.
