Hublot has quite a reputation to uphold when it comes to supporting great causes with exclusive limited editions. They continue this tradition by renewing their commitment to SORAI – Save Our Rhino Africa India. This great cause, founded by Kevin Pietersen, is committed to protecting the rhino population. This is unfortunately much needed as the rhino is well on its way towards extinction. SORAI helps by supporting Care for Wild, the largest rhino sanctuary in the world, focusing on rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing rhinos orphaned by poaching.

To support this very important work, Hublot has created another limited edition, of which part of the proceeds go directly to SORAI and Care for Wild to use as they seem best fitting. As Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot puts it “According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), international, national and local partners must work together to resolve the biodiversity crisis. It is our duty to amplify the voices of those who work on the ground to protect endangered species, particularly the African rhino which is in critical danger of extinction. Hublot is truly delighted and proud to support Kevin Pietersen and SORAI in this movement which is so crucial for the future.”

The new Big Bang Unico SORAI, created for this occasion, features a striking case and bezel made from green ceramic. It comes with two straps, one in green fabric and another one made of black rubber with camouflage decor. This gives the watch a distinct theme, making it a toolwatch optima forma. The Big Bang Unico SORAI is powered by caliber HUB1242, Hublot’s manufacture chronograph movement. This caliber features a flyback chronograph, controlled by a column wheel and with a power reserve of 72-hours. Each of the 100 pieces will be individually numbered and will serve as a constant reminder to its owner that he/she contributed to the preservation of one of the most magnificent mammals on the planet; the rhino.
