For three days in September, the picturesque town of Montreux on Lake Geneva’s shore in Switzerland became motor sport’s most distinguished city; 100 legendary and iconic cars were gathered for a once-in-a-blue-moon car show and historic rally race. The cars, all generously on loan from the Arese Alfa Romeo museum, included Alfa Romeo’s jewel in the crown, the Alfa P3 one-seater, which between 1932 and 1935 won over 45 races.

Hublot, famed maker of haute horlogerie, stated through a spokesperson to be very honored to be associated with the event; in fact, Jean-Claude Biver, the CEO of the company personally took part in the Montreux-Caux rally revival in his own 1967 Ferrari GTB. Biver owns property close to the route and is very familiar with the area. He spoke to the media about the fascination many have with cars and watches.
“The exceptional car or collection car are often only a child’s toy, chased by the adult in pursuit of their childhood dreams. It is this emotional dimension which ultimately makes the real value, and represents the real significance of the collection car. Cars and watches both belong to the same world: of dreams and toys,” he said.
The cars featured in the race were models from 1946 to 1986 and some iconic cars participating were a Ferrari 250 SWB, a Ford GT 40, a 1957 BMW 507 and Alfa Romeo Spyder Bertone prototypes. Hublot, along with this event which took place September 6th to 8th, is building its presence in the motor world by partnering with two of the best known motoring brands: Ferrari and Formula 1.
