Girard-Perregaux Screen Susan and David Rockefeller’s New Documentary at BaselWorld

Last week Girard-Perregaux kicked off their return to BaselWorld with an event honoring Susan and David Rockefeller for their philanthropic commitment to saving the environment.

The evening featured a special screening of the Rockefellers’ new documentary, Mission of Mermaids. The film is a call to action which explores the issues of ocean acidification, overfishing and pollution, advocating for the need for ocean protection and environment preservation.

During the evening Girard-Perregaux presented the Sea Hawk Mission of Mermaids, a timepiece designed in collaboration with Susan Rockefeller and named in honor of the film. The green and blue embellishments on the dial of this limited edition dive watch are complemented by the carving of a mermaid on the case back.

Susan Rockefeller told us; “Girard-Perregaux’s timepieces remind us of how precious time is, and, their support is a great reassurance to us. We have very limited time to save our oceans. My hope is that Mission of Mermaids will inspire people to reflect on the importance of preserving our environment.”
