Sometimes it seems almost mandatory; diamonds on a ladies watch. As if the use of these precious stones mark the difference for which sex a timepiece is created. While they can certainly add something, a watch without diamonds can be just as feminine, as these four watches prove!

Hermes Arceau Casaque

Hermès Arceau Casaque
Understated elegance has been a hallmark of Hermès ever since they started making watches. No diamonds are needed for them to shine, as is shown here by the Arceau Casaque. Here the eye-catching element is a colorful dial which is created by champlevé, lacquer and transfer techniques. The scene on the dial is a reference to Hermès equestrian history, and because the chevron design is crafted in each segment into a different direction the play of light of the dial is astonishing!

Breitling Navitimer time only

Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic
With a diameter of 38mm is this Breitling the smallest member of the Navitimer-family. While it doesn’t feature a chronograph, it does pack a punch, with a slide rule function that is operated by a beautifully beaded bezel. Although not a ladies watch per se, it has become a favorite among the fairer sex. It is powered by an automatic movement and with an overall height of 10.10 mm it doesn’t feel bulky on the wrist.

Bvlgari Serpenti

Bvlgari Serpenti
When it comes to ladies watches the Serpenti by Bvlgari is legendary! Their current collection consists of the most stunning creations, which combine the art of jewellery making with that of watchmaking. This version, with a body crafted from rose gold, and decorated with black lacquer oozes style and class. The snake seems to be able to come to life at any second, thanks to its mysterious amethyst eyes. They are part of the head which can be opened to reveal the dial underneath.

Lange Sohne Saxonia Thin

German watch manufacture A. Lange & Söhne doesn’t advertise the Saxonia Thin as a typical ladies watch, yet it might not come as a surprise that this version gold-flux coated dial has found its way on many female wrists. It is like staring into a night sky, with no distractions thanks to the carefully sculpted case made from white gold. The watch is fitted with a beautiful manual wind movement, which is just 2.9mm in height, yet still offers 72 hours of power reserve.
