Last week, IWC Schaffhausen hosted a presentation at its Moscow boutique in honor of the eighth timepiece designed in collaboration with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. Each model in this series is decorated with a drawing that has won the Foundation’s annual children’s drawing contest.

This year’s model features a drawing from Masha Nikulina, a 16-year-old girl from Izhevsk in the Russian Federation. Released in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, this new IWC Portuguese Chronograph Classic Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” watch features Nikulina’s drawing engraved on the caseback. We saw No. 236 in Moscow.

Part of the proceeds from sales of this timepiece go directly to support the charitable efforts of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, so when you buy this collectors’ edition chronograph you not only treat yourself, you also help those in need.

The Portuguese Chronograph Classic Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” boasts a flyback-chronograph, based on IWC’s in-house Calibre 89361, a self-winding movement with combined minute and hour counters. One of its most outstanding features is its chronograph hand, which measures periods of time via a quarter-second scale. The case is made of steel, measures 42mm and is equipped with a black Santoni alligator leather strap. The dial features the traditional Laureus blue color of the Portuguese Chronograph Classic.

For each watch sold, IWC will also make a donation to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. The charity works to give young people from troubled backgrounds access to sport.
