The Horological Universe Of the Jacob & Co Astronomia
Some of the most iconic watches have no equal, and this is most certainly the case with the Astronomia by Jacob & Co. It was launched in 2014, but very quickly became one of the signature models of the brand. This is not surprising, as it proves to be the perfect canvas for the brand to let loose their boundless creativity. As a result, many different versions of the Astronomia have been launched in the years since its introduction, and Jacob & Co doesn't show any signs of slowing down.
Four Perpetuals That Give A Sportive Twist To This Classic Complication
There was a time when the perpetual calendar was a complication that could only be found in classic, gold cases, fitted with alligator leather straps. They were revered and treasured, yet only worn when the activities weren't too strenuous or potentially damaging to its complex movement. Times have changed, and today is a gold cased dress watch not automatically the timepiece of choice anymore for the rich and accomplished. In their active lives, they need a watch that can keep up with the pace, yet the fascination for the perpetual calendar hasn't dwindled. When the brands combined both, by putting that revered complication in a sportive watch, something magical happened as the following four watches prove.

And when it comes to timepieces, it doesn’t get more classic than 18k yellow gold. Although yellow gold has been somewhat overshadowed by its rosier sibling pink gold in recent years, it’s time to welcome the archetypical precious metal for luxury watches back into the conversation. Say hello to yellow (again) with this fantastic selection of yellow gold watches.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Integral: Big News For The Big Bang
Can the introduction of an integrated bracelet for a watch ever be big news? It is when it concerns a watch that quite literally was a 'Big Bang' in the world of watches. Fifteen ago, Hublot launched the Art of Fusion at Baselworld with the Big Bang, a watch that has become in no-time an icon in its own right. It propelled the then niche brand to the forefront of luxury watchmaking. A key element has always been the rubber strap, which has been the signature of Hublot ever since its founding.

Grammys 2020 And The Serious Watch Collectors Among Music Royalty
Last night the 2020 edition of the Grammy awards was a clean sweep for Billie Eilish, who took home all the four major awards; the one for best album, record, the song of the year, and best new artist. This hadn't happened since 1981 when Christopher Cross accomplished precisely the same thing. All of the royalty of the music world was in attendance, and among them are, surprisingly or not, quite a few passionate watch collectors. Their success enables them to pursue their passion, but the way in which they do this differs.

Watch Fairs & Luxury Conglomerates; Which Strategy Will Pay Off?
Last week the first major watch fair of the year took place, as LVMH organized the very first edition of their 'Watch Week' in Dubai. It is taking the position of the 'Geneva Days,' an event in which the watch brands of LVMH used to launch their first batch of novelties of the year and which took place in Geneva at the same time as the SIHH. As this event is now renamed 'Watches & Wonders Geneva' and takes place adjacent to Baselworld at the end of April. While the LVMH watch brand still participates in Baselworld, they have, for years, been following a strategy of launching the majority of their novelties in two batches throughout the year. The 'Geneva Days' and now 'LVMH Watch Week' allows them to get a head start on the rest, but also to receive feedback from retailers and press to fine-tune their second batch of offerings.
Watch of the Week: Patek Philippe 5212A Calatrava Weekly Calendar
The Patek Philippe 5212A Calatrava Weekly Calendar was one of the most surprising watches of last year, and for more reasons than one. It is always exciting when an esteemed and traditional brand like Patek Philippe goes into a new direction because you know it has to be good. They most certainly had no problem meeting these high expectations and did so with an entirely new watch.
