Four Tourbillons That Set The Pace At SIHH
That the tourbillon remains one of the most popular, high-end complications was once again confirmed this edition of SIHH. Many brands expanded their line-up with one, sometimes as a completely new model, or as a new variety of existing watches. Its popularity can still easily be explained, as the 'dance' that the tourbillon performs in its efforts to fight the effects of gravity remains mesmerising. For brands, this still serves as an inspiration to take this complication to the next level, technically, visually, or both!

SIHH 2019 Day 2: To The Moon And Back
At any watch fair, there is always the risk that you start at a high and then it is all downwards from there. With the balanced additions to the Pilot-collection of IWC, the super sweet Richard Mille's and Jaeger-LeCoultre who showed once again their prowess when it comes to highly complicated watches with a fine finish, that danger is very real. However, this edition of SIHH that fear is misplaced as on the second day, things continued at a very high level.
Haute Time’s Best Photos Of 2018
Time flies when having fun, and that was most certainly the case in 2018. It was an amazing year in watches, in which many new highlights were introduced. Innovation was running high, not only in regards to movements but also in terms of design and materials used. Although a near impossibility to do justice to all the great watches that we handled this year, here is a selection of Haute Time's best photos of them!
SIHH 2019: What To Expect?
While many people are gearing up for the holidays, the watchworld is already preparing for the first big event of 2019; the SIHH. While only insiders of the participating brands know exactly what new products will be launched, by now, we can already tell what kind of year it is going to be. We can base this on two things: the pre-released watches, and the ones we already have all the details of, but cannot share yet due to an embargo.
Sensational Warm Up For SIHH 2019
When 2019 has barely started, SIHH is scheduled to open its doors. From January 14th to 18th the exhibiting brands will delight us with the most mesmerizing new creations. Traditionally many of those brands also launch a few new watches before the show. While impressive, they usually keep the real fireworks until the fair itself. Given the very high level of the watches that they have already introduced, 2019 is bound to going to be an amazing year in watches!
Pencil It In: Day-Date Watches Worth Your Time
When it comes to calendar watches, ones that display the day of the week along with the date of the month are perennial favorites. Unlike some other watch complications, the day-date is actually a useful one, even in today’s modernized world.
Double Take: Two-Tone Luxury Watches that Marry Rose Gold and Steel
Bringing together two different colored metals on one watch is certainly not new in the luxury watch landscape. However, the use of rose gold rather than more traditional yellow gold to sit alongside stainless steel is a fresher approach to two-tone timepieces.
Some Remarkable Watches At Phillips Geneva Auction
This weekend it is time for some action again in Geneva, as Phillips will be having its November auction. Spectacular World Time Watches: At Home Around The Globe
A GMT-watch is nice, but it only shows what time it is at home as well as in the time-zone you are currently in. With our world getting more interconnected every day for some people this might not be enough. While on the beach in Rio you might need to know if you can call a business partner in Asia, or if the markets in Europe have already closed. For that, a world time watch is most convenient, as it shows the current time around the globe.
Big & Bold: Four Watches That Are Large Because They Need The Space
Some watches are big for the sake of being big. Other then a large diameter they have very little to offer. There is, however, a category of watches that not only uses all the real estate they have available, but they also need it! They feature movements that fill the case and require large dials to show a multitude of complications in a fashionable order. They are the behemoths of the Haute Horlogerie, and they are large for a good reason!
Watch of the Week: Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Les Aérostiers
Our watch of the week is actually a series of watches, as Vacheron Constantin took everybody's breath away last SIHH by introducing five versions of the Métiers d'Art Les Aérostiers.
