Timely FAQs

Is Vacheron Constantin the oldest watch brand?
It is the oldest watch manufacturer in continuous operation. The company traces to Jean-Marc Vacheron's 1755 apprentice contract in Geneva and has never ceased production since - a claim older houses cannot make because their output stopped at some point.
Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet?
These are the traditional "Holy Trinity" of Swiss watchmaking. Patek carries the strongest auction results, Audemars Piguet the strongest single design in the Royal Oak, and Vacheron Constantin the longest unbroken history and the widest range of hand-decorated Metiers d'Art work. All three finish to the same tier.
What is the Hallmark of Geneva?
A certification granted by the Canton of Geneva to watches whose movements are made and assembled within the canton to a defined finishing standard. It is a geographic and technical mark, and Vacheron Constantin has used it since 1901.
Where can I read Vacheron Constantin reviews from a watch publication?
Haute Time has published more than 160 Vacheron Constantin stories since 2006, including Watches and Wonders launches, Metiers d'Art series and Les Cabinotiers commissions.
