Roger Dubuis And Finding Synergy Between Classic Craftsmanship And Dazzling Design
Roger Dubuis has always been a unique brand ever since it was founded in 1995 by the master-watchmaker with the same name. From the beginning, the design was just as important as the refined movements that powered these refined watches. In only four short years the brand became a true manufacture, producing in-house movements of excellent quality that were even awarded the prestigious Geneva Seal.

Ahead Of Geneva Motor Show 2020, Check Out These Watch And Car Collabs
The Geneva International Motor Show is gearing up for its 90th edition, slated to take place in early March. As one of Europe’s premier motor shows, GIMS is where some of the leading automakers unveil their most important cars for the year. While various car manufacturers are bowing out of this year’s edition due to COVID-19 concerns, many are forging ahead as planned. As we wait for the show to kick-off, let’s have a look at a few watch and car collabs and the models they’ve produced.
Haute Time’s Hottest Time Only Watches Of 2019
Two or three hands that tell the time, sometimes with a date complication added to the mix; the majority of the watches produced these days follow this format. Nearly every brand has multiple models that follow this concept in their collection, which makes standing out, or even going a step further and making a mark on the industry, is challenging. The following four watches did, however, just that in 2019:
Four Watches That Are ‘Carbon Cool’
Next to being ultra-light and very strong is carbon visually a very cool material. It can be processed in a variety of different ways, each with an appearance of its own. In watchmaking, the advantages that this material offers where recognized at a very early stage by quite a few watchmakers. It is utilized primarily in sports watches, as this type of watches makes the most out of the benefits that carbon offers over steel and even titanium. Next to that do they also utilize carbon as an important visual element of the design. That this can result in very tempting watches is proven by the following four watches;
Digital Displays: Jump Hour Watches
Rather than a traditional hour center hand that sweeps around the dial pointing to 12 indexes, jump hour watches use a digital display (not to be confused with modern digital watches) to indicate the current hour. This particular mechanical watch complication dates back to 1883 when Josef Pallweber patented his invention using rotating discs for hours and minutes and displayed the time numerically via a pair of windows. Over a century later, Pallweber’s innovation is still alive and well as illustrated by these three brilliant examples of jump hour watches.
The New Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Carbon3; A Supreme (De)light
Carbon has become an increasingly popular material for use in watchmaking these days but no other brand has taken this as far as Roger Dubuis. With the Excalibur Spider Carbon3, they present a watch which is not only equipped with a case and bracelet made from this material but incorporated it in the movement as well.
Roger Dubuis Lights Up The Dark With Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy
Roger Dubuis has always had a strong drive to innovate, not only in a technical but also in an aesthetic sense. This means that they need to think outside the box in all different dimensions and keep their eyes open to new materials, but also new applications of existing materials. With the Excalibur Blacklight, they took the lab-grown sapphire crystals, commonly used in the watch industry as the 'jewels' or 'rubies' which are used inside the movement as bearings for the gears and other parts that are prone to wear, and applied them in a completely different way.
Four Watches For Father
With Father's Day just around the corner, this might be the perfect year to surprise that important man in your life with something that he can not only enjoy every day but will also have a practical use and serve as a reminder of your love for him; a watch. With plenty of options to choose from, we selected four different ones, for four different dads.
Four Tourbillons That Make Your Head Spin
Of all the complications, the tourbillon must be the most mesmerizing. It is therefore not surprising that most brands also make this complication visible from the dial side so that whoever is wearing it, can fully enjoy it. For others, this is not enough, and they like to take the tourbillon to a whole other level;
Stargazing With The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Shooting Star
They are unfortunately still the exception on the rule; ladies watches that feature highly complex movements that were created especially for these watches. Roger Dubuis is one of the few that forms the exception on this rule as with the Excalibur Shooting Star they present a watch that impresses both in technical execution as well as feminine design.
Haute Living Celebrates Offset Cover Launch With Intimate Dinner On Super Bowl Eve With Roger Dubuis, Louis XIII & JetSmarter
To celebrate Offset's success, Haute Living hosted an intimate dinner at Atlanta’s Cape Dutch restaurant partners Roger Dubuis, Louis XIII and JetSmarter.
Full Throttle With The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracan
Let's be honest; a partnership between a car manufacturer and a watch brand isn't always a good idea. When the aim is purely a commercial one and more an exchange of logos rather than a true understanding of each others DNA, failure is often just around the corner. That is why the alliance between Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini is such an exciting one because it has everything but is lacking the logos!
Sensational Warm Up For SIHH 2019
When 2019 has barely started, SIHH is scheduled to open its doors. From January 14th to 18th the exhibiting brands will delight us with the most mesmerizing new creations. Traditionally many of those brands also launch a few new watches before the show. While impressive, they usually keep the real fireworks until the fair itself. Given the very high level of the watches that they have already introduced, 2019 is bound to going to be an amazing year in watches!
Roger Dubuis Velvet: Haute Horlogerie With A Feminine Touch
In the world of Roger Dubuis, only the best is good enough. This also becomes clear when you look at the 'Velvet,' their collection of ladies watches. They are as rich as the fabric that inspired its name, combining exquisite craftsmanship, eye for detail as well as a superb movement, all in an original design.
From The Archives: Haute Time’s Hottest Pictures

Over the years this has resulted in an incredible database of the most beautiful pictures of the most astonishing watches. We use these to illustrate our articles, both online as well in print, but also on our social media channels. Despite their high-quality do not all photos get used, so some of the images you see below have never been featured on Haute Time before while others might not highlight the latest watches anymore, they remain among our favorites.
When A Need For Speed Results In An Extraordinary Watch
How can you translate the speed and agility of a super sports car into a watch? How can you let it breathe that sheer excitement that many people have when they see, hear and smell an exotic car? At Roger Dubuis, they have no problem capturing the essence of it all, which is fortunate as they have a partnership with two of the most iconic names in the car industry: Pirelli and Lamborghini. A watch that explains best how they achieve this is inspired by the latter and named the Excalibur Aventador S
