With the launch of the second chapter of the breathtaking Virtuoso VIII, Bovet gave us a watch in the brand’s signature style. Its precious metal case housed an exquisite movement complemented by two aventurine glass dials. It perfectly displayed the unique elegance and technical prowess that the brand has to offer. But Bovet also has another side, one that embodies a sense of highly exclusive sportiveness, and that is at the heart of the new Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two Reimagined.

Here no precious metal for the case, but lightweight titanium with a black coating of Diamond-Like Carbon, also known as DLC, in a gloss finish. That not alone changes the look of this Bovet, as the Aventurine glass dials are switched for ones with full Super-LumiNova. The brand offers them in five distinct colors, green, blue, yellow, purple, and salmon, limited to 8 pieces each. What stands out are the vibrant colors of the Super-LumiNova and the precision of the printing on it. In low light conditions, they show their true potential making the Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two Reimagined a watch that impresses during both night and day. An interesting detail is also the ring of Super-LumiNova around the tourbillon, highlighting this exclusive complication.

In terms of looks, is this Bovet quite similar to the Black Badge models of Rolls-Royce, offering the same excellence and refinement, yet in a bolder, trailblazing package. For this, the movement is also slightly changed in appearance by finishing it with a blackened Côtes de Genève to fit the overall theme. It suits the watch splendidly. What hasn’t changed is the superb finishing of every part, for which Bovet utilizes old-school crafts mainly applied by hand. The movement consists out of no less than 356 parts. Next to the time, it also features a tourbillon and oversized date, while a single mainspring barrel gives the watch a power reserve of an impressive 10-days. Visually is the movement a treat and perfectly proportioned to fit in the 44mm case of the Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two Reimagined, making it all combined an exquisite addition to the Bovet line up, showing a different side of the brand.
