In collaboration with Italia Independent, Hublot has announced the new Big Bang Unico Italia Independent timepiece. The collaboration resulted in several breakthroughs in design, not the least of which is the timepiece’s case, which features a brand-new material, Texalium, exclusive to Hublot alone.
Texalium, an aluminium-coated carbon fibre, has a remarkable brilliance and will allow for even more color variations in each of the Big Bang UNICO Italia Independent timepieces. Here are two of those, in dark grey and in blue. Each color will be limited to 500 pieces.
The strap is made from denim fabric with grey or black studs, typically seen on luxury shoes, and benefits from the interchangeable “One Click” system, which enables its wearers to choose from a wide range of straps as they like. Every watch comes in a customized Italia Independent display case and a pair of Italia Independent sunglasses (also made from Texalium!) as a bonus gift for Big Bang customers.
