Last week, Haute Time visited the newly opened two-story F.P. Journe boutique in Los Angeles. In the last couple of years, the brand has grown, with boutiques in Miami’s Bal Harbour and on New York’s Madison Avenue, so visiting the boutique on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood was a treat.
We got a look at the exclusive Black Label Collection at the F.P. Journe Boutique in West Hollywood...
We got to see a lot of F.P. Journe watches, and had an amazing time discussing the brand with their manager, Achod Nevrous. To see his passion and excitement behind the brand was positive, and he taught us a lot about the brand during our time together. Achod is very knowledgeable about the brand, so for serious watch collectors or people interested in the brand, he is worth visiting to discuss if you are interested in making a purchase of an F.P. Journe watch.
Achod showed us a lot of watches, but two of our favorites were from the F.P. Journe Black Label Collection. What is the Black Label Collection? Something very unique, and special for F.P. Journe collectors. Similar to the way Ferrari sells their newest cars to established clients, F.P. Journe does the same with the Black Label Collection. You must buy this watch at one of the six F.P. Journe boutiques worldwide. Plus, you have to show proof of a previous F.P. Journe purchase. Only 12 pieces a year per boutique are produced for the Black Label Collection, with 2 pieces maximum for each model.
We got to see two watches from the Black Label Collection in store. The first was the F.P. Journe Black Label Centigraphe in Rose Gold, and the second was the F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain With Constant Force Escapement And Dead Seconds. Both watches are works of art, and best of all, both are part of the elite Black Label collection. That means they are very unique, and having them is buying art, a collector’s piece for the future.
One of the best parts of playing with the watches was Achmod’s input. Hearing him tell stories about the pieces, and the way they were created by the legendary watchmaker François-Paul Journe.

The most special watch he showed us was the F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain With Constant Force Escapement And Dead Seconds. We took a video while Achmod spoke about the thought process that went into this watch by Francis-Paul Journe, that he is a true artist in watch making. The watch is in platinum, with a beautiful black face.

The second watch Achmod showed us was the F.P. Journe Black Label Centigraphe in Rose Gold. The watch is very rich with the black face, rose gold dial, and I love it with the brown strap. This watch is very cool to look at, as the machine is doing 10 different things – Centigraphe indicates elapsed time from 1/100th of a second to 10 minutes, visible on 3 dials, each with a time scale in red and a tachometer scale in black. I loved watching the face, which is very elegant, and a sophisticated piece for daily wear.
