Luxury watchmakers Richard Mille have announced a new partnership with rally driver Sébastien Loeb. The French sports star, who races for Citroën, is prolific, with 9 world championships, 76 victories and 112 podium finishes in the World Rally Championships under his belt.

Richard Mille told us they are delighted to have Sébastien Loeb join the ‘RM Family’, a partnership which will give the manufacture further opportunity to place their watches in extreme conditions and test their performance. Loeb made his first public debut as the new face of Richard Mille while wearing one of the company’s timepieces on his wrist at this week’s Monte Carlo Rallye. The partnership was a natural fit for the manufacture, whose passion for motorsports shines through as a continuous source of inspiration in their creations; watches which are highly efficient, uncompromising and streamlined, where function dictates form with no gimmicks.

Loeb is renowned for his incredible versatility, mastering all types of courses from dirt to road with extraordinary ease. In 2011, Loeb founded Sébastien Loeb Racing, his eponymous motor racing team, which is gearing up for the 2013 racing season with a debut at the FIA GT Series with two McLaren, MP4-12C GT3. Loeb is set to participate in the GT Sprint Series season on top of his partial rallying programme in WRC (4 rounds), and will also be present at the Richard Mille booth next week during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva.
