The best new watches of October 2026 range from an $8,600 Hermès to Patek Philippe’s $337,585 platinum Ref. 5978P, with Hublot, IWC, Parmigiani Fleurier, URWERK, Ulysse Nardin, MB&F, and Ressence all unveiling new pieces in the first half of the month. Every watch here was announced by its brand in October, and every figure comes from the brand’s own release or website.
October 2026's best new watches include Patek Philippe's Milan-edition Ref. 5978P perpetual calendar chronograph at $337,585, the $30,900 Hublot Classic Fusion Tributo, the URWERK UR-300 Time Quantum at CHF 168,000, and the 15-piece Ulysse Nardin Freak [S Howlite].
This is the first entry in a monthly series, and my rule for it is simple: a watch makes the list only if its maker announced it this month. October delivered plenty. The big houses leaned on heritage and grand complications, while the independents kept pushing on materials and on how a watch displays the time.
The Best New Watches of October 2026 From the Big Houses
Patek Philippe opened its seventh “Watch Art” Grand Exhibition in Milan on October 2 with seven limited editions, and the headliner is the Ref. 5978P-010. Patek says it combines its manually wound chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar for the first time, a pairing that required the new caliber CH 29-535 PS QI, assembled from 500 components.
The 42mm platinum case is fully polished, with a concave bezel, scalloped lugs, and a single diamond at 6 o’clock, and it measures 14.24mm thick. Limited to 120 pieces, the watch is listed at $337,585; for me, this timepiece is the most important complication of the month.

Hublot looked to its own beginnings. Unveiled in Milan on October 15, the Classic Fusion Tributo returns to the gold-on-rubber watch that Carlo Crocco introduced in 1980 under the MDM Genève name, now in 18k yellow gold or 18k white gold at 38mm across and 9.5mm thick. Inside is the self-winding HUB1711, and either metal is $30,900.
IWC’s Year of the Goat chronograph arrived the same day, months ahead of the Lunar New Year. The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Year of the Goat, Ref. IW388310, pairs a titanium case and black ceramic bezel with the first gold-colored dial in IWC’s run of Chinese New Year editions. It is limited to 500 pieces at $13,100.
Parmigiani Fleurier took the quieter route. The TORIC Petite Seconde Platinum Morning Blue, released October 1, sets a hand-grained Morning Blue gold dial in a platinum case and runs on the rose gold PF780 movement. Parmigiani lists it at CHF 56,500 on its website as a 2026 novelty.
Hermès, meanwhile, brightened its fiberglass sports watch. The H08 Blanc and H08 Bleu de Malte, released October 13, dress the 39mm braided-fiberglass case in new colors, with the white version adding a white ceramic bezel, a white lacquered dial, and a white rubber strap. Both run on the Manufacture Hermès H1837 and are priced at $8,600.

Independents Push the Display Further
URWERK unveiled the UR-300 Time Quantum in Geneva on October 15, and it changes how the brand’s wandering hour behaves. Instead of satellites orbiting a carousel, two hour modules lock together in a T-shaped frame that jumps forward and rotates at the top of every hour. There are two editions of 25 pieces each, one in titanium and one in AlTiN-treated titanium, both CHF 168,000 before taxes.

Ulysse Nardin marked 25 years of the Freak with a watch made only for North America. The Freak [S Howlite], Ref. 2513-500LE-9A-HOW/3A, released October 15, cuts its hour disc from Canadian howlite, a white stone with gray veining, so no two of the 15 pieces look alike. It runs on the dual-oscillator Freak S movement and is $190,700 excluding tax.
MB&F moved its first Legacy Machine into a case meant for daily wear with the LM1 EVO this month. The 42mm EVO case houses the dual-time movement developed with Jean-François Mojon and finished to specifications set by Kari Voutilainen, and the rose gold version is limited to 33 pieces. MB&F lists it from CHF 82,000 before VAT.
Ressence rounds out the month with the TYPE 10 DN “Dark Night,” announced in Antwerp on October 1 and shown in New York on October 16. It is the first oil-filled Ressence powered by the brand’s own RW-04 caliber, a 41.5mm Grade 5 titanium watch that weighs 82 grams. It is limited to 100 pieces at CHF 45,000 excluding taxes, with deliveries from November 2026.

In my view, October’s story is range. One month produced a platinum grand complication, a gold heritage piece, a stone-dialed Freak, and an 82-gram oil-filled titanium watch, and the November edition of this list has a high bar to clear.
