Bremont traces its origins to a precarious flight over Champagne, France.
Born from a historic emergency landing in a French pea field, modern British watchmaker Bremont continues to push boundaries under CEO Davide Cerrato. Highlighting this evolution is the expanded Terra Nova Jumping Hour line, featuring the high-torque, proprietary Calibre BC634 across 35mm to 40.5mm steel and limited-edition frosted executions.
Named in honor of French farmer and former wartime pilot Antoine Bremont, the brand was founded in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English following an emergency landing in Bremont’s pea field.
Passionate about aviation and mechanical restoration, Bremont generously hosted the brothers, inspiring them to name their future watch brand after him.
Since its inception, the fiercely independent pioneer of modern British horology has championed the UK’s watchmaking heritage through robust, military-grade timepieces like the Supernova Hawking and Altitude MB Meteor.
In May 2023, the brand signaled its ambitions with the appointment of industry veteran Davide Cerrato—formerly of Panerai, Tudor, Montblanc, and HYT—as CEO.
Under Cerrato’s direction, Bremont unveiled its revamped Terra Nova collection at Watches and Wonders in April 2024, introducing the proprietary Calibre BC634 developed in partnership with Sellita.
Featuring a high-torque spring module that snaps the hour disc forward in under one-tenth of a second at the top of the hour, this automatic movement debuted inside a 100-piece limited-edition bronze model. Beating at 28,800vph (4Hz) with a 54-hour power reserve, the movement features a Glucydur balance wheel, an Anachron balance spring, and a Nivaflex mainspring.
At Geneva Watch Days 2026, Bremont expanded the collection around this workhorse caliber with diverse case and dial executions starting from US$4,550 / £3,500 on leather (and US$4,900 / £3,750 on bracelet): the core Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour in steel; the 150-piece limited-edition Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Frosted; the Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Burgundy; the 200-piece limited-edition Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Frosted Pink, featuring diamond hour markers and a polished seconds hand; and the Terra Nova 40.5 Jumping Hour Burgundy. Fitted with nubuck leather straps, the non-frosted models are also offered with alternating polished and brushed steel bracelets.
“The Terra Nova Jumping Hour has always been about design with real character,” Cerrato remarks.
“The montre à guichet (watch with window) display gives it an identity unlike anything else in our collection. With these five new additions, we’ve pushed that further. The new 35mm case opens up a more compact, versatile way to wear the complication, with a touch of vintage charm that lends itself beautifully to a dress watch. And with burgundy, we’re continuing to build our world of British colours, following on from the success of pink. It’s a palette that feels distinctly ours, and one we’ll keep exploring.”
