This year, as one of its five novelties during Watches & Wonders, Vacheron Constantin introduces the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph from the Collection Excellence Platine — dubbing itself ‘The Collectors’ piece.”

The Haute Minute

This year, Vacheron Constantin introduces the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph from the Collection Excellence Platine.

This 50-piece limited edition represents a confluence of tradition and innovation, set within the prestigious realm of the Collection Excellence Platine. Every component, from the 42.5 mm diameter case to the strap’s stitching, revels in the lustrous splendor of 950 platinum, affirming its status as a collector’s treasure.

Powered by the Calibre 3200, a movement that marked Vacheron Constantin’s 260th anniversary, this timepiece integrates a monopusher chronograph with a tourbillon regulator, optimizing both for reliability and precision. The tourbillon, visible through a large aperture at 12 o’clock on the dial, alongside a 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, exemplifies the brand’s dedication to functional aesthetics and readability. The movement’s rhythm, set at a deliberate pace of 18,000 vibrations per hour, allows for the mesmerizing display of the tourbillon. Meanwhile, the peripheral drive system of the tourbillon carriage and the friction-drive lateral clutch of the chronograph illustrate the Maison’s innovative approach to enhancing both the functionality and aesthetics of this exquisite timepiece. Through the sapphire caseback, the intricate workings of the Calibre 3200 are on display.

The Collection Excellence Platine, home to Vacheron Constantin’s most exclusive creations, is celebrated for its limited editions crafted in noble platinum. The Traditionnelle tourbillon chronograph enriches this collection with a blend of the tourbillon and chronograph complications, housed within an in-house movement. It retains the iconic features of the Traditionnelle collection, such as Dauphine-type hands and a fluted caseback, while showcasing an original layout that enhances functionality and legibility.

This Traditionnelle tourbillon chronograph is housed in a sleek platinum case and paired with a dark blue alligator strap, this timepiece is a statement of elegance and sophistication. The blend of blued steel and 18K gold hands against the backdrop of a finely grained platinum dial encapsulates the essence of Vacheron Constantin’s watchmaking philosophy: a relentless pursuit of excellence, where every detail counts and every moment is a celebration of legacy and innovation.
