Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a towering 67-story luxury resort and casino masterminded by Fontainebleau Development, has officially opened its opulent doors to the world. Following a glamorous private launch on December 13, graced by a surprise headline performance by the 10-time GRAMMY® winner Justin Timberlake, this grand unveiling ushers in a new era of lavish hospitality along the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Timberlake, joined by football icon Tom Brady and others, rolled the first dice in Fontainebleau Las Vegas’ high-limit salon, officially marking the resort’s opening to the public.

And Brady, of course, didn’t let us down when it came to his wristgame. Brady rocked the Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002R, known as the “5002R,” stands as a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to horological innovation and craftsmanship. As Patek Philippe’s most intricate wristwatch ever created, this timepiece boasts a movement comprised of 686 meticulously crafted components, some of which are incredibly minuscule. This horological marvel features a minute repeater with a tourbillon escapement, accompanied by a chime with two resounding “cathedral” gongs, elegantly activated by a slide piece in the case.

Shifting attention to the front face of the watch, we find a perpetual calendar with a retrograde date hand, meticulously tracking every moment of time. The timepiece displays hours and minutes of mean solar time, alongside day, month, and leap year indicators operated by graceful hands. Furthermore, it provides a mesmerizing glimpse of the moon’s age in its celestial dance. The opaline-white dial, adorned with an embossed Calatrava cross motif and gold-applied Roman numerals, exudes timeless elegance. With its crown positioned at 4 o’clock, this side of the watch offers ease of time-setting and winding, making it a truly exceptional creation in Patek Philippe’s illustrious history.

Turning the watch over reveals the reverse side, where a captivating world of celestial complexities unfolds. It showcases sidereal time, a skychart, and the intricate phases and orbit of the moon, all presented with meticulous precision. The crown at 8 o’clock, complete with a 24-hour scale, enables the correction of sky and moon indications. While this horological masterpiece is a marvel of sophistication, it’s essential to note that the case is humidity and dust-protected, making it a cherished treasure deserving of utmost care. With a case diameter of 42.8mm, the Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002R is a symbol of horological excellence and a testament to the brand’s enduring legacy of crafting extraordinary timepieces — making it the perfect Vegas companion for Brady.
