Haute Time got a sneak peak at the yet-to-be-launched Fabergé Lady Compliquée Peacock at the Baselworld show earlier this year. Part of Fabergé’s latest collection, the Lady Compliquée consists of two models, the Peacock (pictured) and the Winter, both to be introduced in Fabergé boutiques coming September. Known for its exotic jeweled eggs, the Russian jewelry brand turned watch manufacturer pays tribute with its latest timepiece to the famous 1908 Peacock Egg featuring a strutting automaton peacock inside a rock crystal. The result is a stunning ladies timepiece that showcases impressive mechanics, and continues to elevate the brand’s status in the watch industry, following the equally impressive Visionnaire I.

Indeed, the hour ring of the Lady Compliquée Peacock rotates around the dial to indicate the hour at 12 o’clock, while the feathers, in a jumping retrograde minute function, track the minutes. In the picture above for example, the time reads 11h30. Both scales are made of polished mother of pearl and feature printed numerals, just as is a portion on the dial where the brand name appears.

Set with 54 diamonds, the platinum case with domed sapphire crystal showcases the fanning of the peacock tail at every hour. The full tail, comprised of five feathers, is set against a sub dial which is snow set with different sizes of Paraíba Tourmalines (0.23 carats), turquoise gems, intense green tsavorites (0.27cts) and white diamonds (0.38 cts), imparting a glittering effect and bringing the peacock to life. The peacock itself is sculpted and hand-engraved in 18-carat white gold.

A high-end jewelry watch, the Fabergé Lady Compliquée measures 38 mm and sits elegantly on the wrist. It is sure to draw the eyes with its unique design. A sapphire crystal caseback with anti-reflective treatment shows off the hand-wound Caliber 6901 movement, which has a power reserve of 50 hours, and was created by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht from the specialized design firm, Agenhor. Attention to detail does not stop with the case and dial, but extends to the carefully selected white alligator strap with a platinum Fabergé pin buckle. Price upon request.
