More than a thousand treasures will be up for grabs as Christie’s New York presents “Luxury Week” from June 12 to 15.
The auctioning will be a cluster per day, with New York Important Jewels setting the event in motion on June 12, offering more than 180 precious diamonds, gemstones and period jewels that could be collectively valued at over $10 million.
Important Watches take center stage on June 13. Among the number of Patek Philippe wristwatches to be featured are a rare 18k gold timepiece with two crowns produced in 1963 (reference 2523), and a vintage 18k pink gold split-seconds watch made in 1950 (reference 1436). Other pieces on the line, such as antique desk clocks, dress watches, jeweled watches, pocket watches and sports watches, are likewise branded with luxurious names Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Rolex and Vacheron Constantin. There will be around 300 lots for this chronograph segment.
The last two days will feature the Important 20th Century Decorative Art and Design items. The final bids will be raised for the Fine and Rare Wines section, very fine indeed as the list includes a 40-year-old Bowmore and a limited edition 200th Anniversary Johnnie Walker Blue Label Blended Scotch Whiskey.
Christie’s New York looks forward to an excess of $23 million for over a thousand excellent, quality artifacts on high sale in this bi-annual event.
