Creating elegance is all about proportion, and when it comes to watches, this proportion is measured in fractions of millimeters. This goes for not only the case but everything on the watch, from the hand and numerals to the width of the strap. Individual they must be right, but also in combination with each other, and that’s what makes the Zenith Elite Lady Moonphase such a successful design.

One of the most challenging parts of designing a ladies watch is the overall diameter. More so than men, do ladies wear a wide variety of different sizes, ranging from generously oversized, to downright petite. With 33mm Zenith seems to have found a size that covers the middle ground. It gives them plenty of room to show off the features of the watch, without going overboard.

Those features are a classic moon phase, along with a sub-second at nine o’clock. Zenith kept the dial very minimal in terms of design. The silver dial has a sunray pattern on it, that plays with the light in a very subtle way. It matches nicely with the slender hour indexes and leaf hands. The blued second’s hand adds a dash of color that connects with the background of the moon phase disc. Zenith also kept the writing on the watch to a minimum, increasing the visual impact of the piece.

Of course is also the Elite Lady Moonphase fitted with a manufacture caliber. With a height of only 3.97 mm, this automatic movement is pleasantly slim and can be admired through a sapphire case back. Because of the slim movement, the overall height of the watch is only 9.25mm, which gives it very nice proportions. As icing on the cake did Zenith fit it with a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. This gives the watch a slightly vintage feel.

Overall the Zenith Elite Lady Moonphase is one of those watches that looks amazing now, but will also age nicely, and there are not that many watches that can say that they are a classic by birth! The Elite Lady Moonphase is avalailable in 18K rose gold with diamonds ($11.500,-) or without ($9.600,-) but a lot of ladies might also be tempted by the steel version which costs a very affordable $5.300,-. Zenith also offers a steel version with diamonds, which is priced at $7.100,-
