In 2021, Patek Philippe introduced three new iterations of chronographs with additional complications, with the 5905/1A-001 Flyback Chronograph being one of them. The debut of the 5905/1A-001 Flyback Chronograph marked a significant time for the brand: it was the first time the watch was designed in stainless steel—an extremely rare metal in the Patek collections.

The self-winding flyback chronograph features Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar and radiates an incredibly sophisticated sporty look with a three-link integrated bracelet, embodying the brand’s dedication to designing elevated everyday watches. In addition, it has a fold-over clasp enhanced by contrasting polished and satin finishes. The case is steel as well, with a sapphire crystal case back.

The rhythmic dial features a “sunburst” olive green color that gives it a refined, casual look. The hour markers are gold applied. Thanks to the vertical disk-type clutch, the central chronograph seconds hand can be used as a permanent (running) seconds display.

It also features a self-winding mechanical movement, including the renowned patented Annual Calendar that automatically takes account of 30 and 31-day months. March 1st is the only correction required per year. The day, date, month, and day/night indications are displayed in the apertures.
