Within the collection of Panerai does the Submersible hold a special place. They are often even bolder than their siblings, which is especially the case with the Submersible Chrono Guillaume Nery Edition. With a diameter of 47mm, it is large, even for a Panerai. The case is crafted from titanium to keep the weight down and has a black DLC coating. DLC stands for ‘Diamond-Like Carbon,’ which is a robust coating that Panerai applied with a matte finish. The water-resistance of the watch is 300 meters, which is more than enough for the vast majority of diving expeditions, and a great achievement for it being a chronograph as well.

As a result, does the Submersible Chrono Guillaume Nery Edition has an almost military appearance, which is even further enhanced by the signature crown guard, diving bezel and screw-in chronograph pushers. Because of this, the hands and oversized hour markers stand out even more, as does the gorgeous dial. It was inspired by the color of the sea of Polynesia, which made Panerai opt for turquoise chronograph hands and details. They go very well with the watch, also offering the perfect contrast to read at a glance. It also complements the gradient dial itself, which goes from blue to black, really drawing your attention. Inside the case, we find manufacture caliber P.9100. This automatic movement features two mainspring barrels, which give it a power reserve of 3 days. The chronograph comes with a central minute counter and has a flyback function.

This limited edition also has something extra in store for the 15 people that purchase it. Here Panerai-ambassador Guillaume Nery comes into play. The French free-diving champion holds several world records, but also made a name for himself with his underwater films. He will take the 15 owners of this limited edition Submersible on a unique expedition in which they will dive to swim with whales, near his home on Mo’orea, one of the islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific. This makes this Submersible even more unique, and will also help in forge an even more memorable bond between the watch and its owner.
