The Haute Minute

It is a strategy that quite a few brands follow; launch models that are only available in their own boutiques. Over the years, this has proven to be a worthwhile strategy for them, as in search of something special, many made the pilgrimage to obtain a watch that cannot be found elsewhere. Breguet just added two new boutique editions that make it indeed very tempting to visit one of their boutiques, as they offer all the distinct features of the brand in a unique package.

It is a strategy that quite a few brands follow; launch models that are only available in their own boutiques. Over the years, this has proven to be a worthwhile approach for them, as in search of something special, many made the pilgrimage to obtain a watch that cannot be found elsewhere. Breguet just added two new boutique editions that make it indeed very tempting to visit one of their boutiques, as they offer all the distinct features of the brand in a unique package.

Tradition 7097BB GY 9WU_lifestyle_1

The first is the Tradition Automatique Seconde Rétrograde 7097, a watch that shows its mechanical parts in an unusual way. Most of the gear train can be admired at the front of the watch, crowned by an engine-turned blue dial. It still breathes the distinct style of the brands’ founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet, yet is, at the same time, surprisingly contemporary. This is not only thanks to the blue dial and matching strap but also to the white gold case with a 40mm diameter. This makes the watch perfectly proportioned. The front of the watch is a joy to look at, not only because of all the well-finished parts but also because of the motion of the balance wheel and gear train. Charming is also the retrograde secondes display, which is located on the left side of the dial. It adds a sense of dynamic that shows the versatility of the Breguet design language.

Tradition 7038BR CT 3V6 D00D with clutch
While the brand is known for its gold dials with engine-turned motifs, they have, in more recent years, also adopted Tahitian mother-of-pearl as a distinct element in their ladies’ collection. What is so unique are not only the deep and vibrant colors of this mother-of-pearl but also that Breguet can engine-turn this material as well, a very delicate operation. At 37mm is the new Tradition Dame 7038 a bit more modest in size, yet it makes quite the impression as its rose gold case is set with 68 brilliant-cut diamonds. It is matched not only by an orange calfskin leather strap but also with a clutch bag in the same color leather and with its clasp engraved similar to that of the mainspring barrel that comes with the watch, making it the perfect accessory for the summer.
