Making The Invisible Visible: A Look At Vacheron Constantin’s New ‘The Anatomy Of Beauty’ Campaign That Debuted In Beverly Hills
The art of high watchmaking exceeds beyond the naked eye, demanding extreme precision, unparalleled skill, and a true passion for the intricacies of timepieces. As a leading brand in the luxurious craft, Vacheron Constantin celebrates the beauty in the meticulous attention to detail in both the beauty and function of its creations. A theme that has long been incorporated into Vacheron Constantin’s DNA, The Anatomy of Beauty, explores the complex, synergistic relationship between high watchmaking and nature — and the divine beauty in both. And, to take this concept a step further, in mid-June, Vacheron Constantin collaborated with Director, Producer, and Cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg in the short film, “The Anatomy of Beauty®,” which debuted at a lush private estate in Beverly Hills.

The film, featuring Schwartzberg’s critically acclaimed time-lapse cinematography (as he is known as the ‘father of time-lapse’), reveals the parallels between the beauty found within nature and the beauty found in the details of the Maison’s intricate watchmaking processes. For Alexander Schmiedt, the President of the Americas for Vacheron Constantin, the collaboration with Schwartzberg perfectly depicted the essence of Vacheron Constantin. “He comes from a different angle,” notes Schmiedt about Schwartzberg’s cinematography style. “His unique cinematography captures parallels between the many unseen mysteries to be discovered in our natural world, and the almost invisible tiny details of our hand-crafted timepieces that together create a beautiful whole.”

Schmiedt explains that Vacheron Constantin invited Schwartzberg to spend a few days in the New York flagship — where the brand has watchmakers on-site — to fully immerse himself in the world of Vacheron Constantin. Thus, the campaign film became a beautiful artistic expression of Vacheron Constantin’s brand ethos. “Vacheron Constantin has been exploring ‘The Anatomy of Beauty’ since our inception, so this level of detail to create the beauty as a whole has always been there,” says Schmiedt.

To celebrate the new campaign, Vacheron Constantin hosted an exceptional star-studded evening in Beverly Hills, where guests entered the sprawling private estate, instantly being transported to Vacheron Constantin’s ultimate dream in nature. For the reveal, Schmiedt and Schwartzberg wanted nature to be the stage.
Before watching the new film, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with a surprise dance performance choreographed by visionary artist Sara Silkin and got an up-close look at the hero watches, the Maison’s new Overseas Skeleton timepieces: the Overseas Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar and the Overseas Tourbillon Skeleton. Guests were then invited down to the screening area, enriched with luxurious greenery and set on a waterfront stage, to view the film with another special performance by DJ Daisy O’Dell and Violinist/Composer Josh Vietti.

It was truly an evening to remember with notable guests including Dakota Johnson, Chris Paul, Riley Keough, Nicole Richie, D-Nice, and Kate Mara. As Schwartzberg said: “Beauty is nature’s design of maximizing the flow of energy. Seeing the interior of a Vacheron watch is like watching perpetual energy.”
Ahead, indulge in ‘The Anatomy of Beauty’ film.
