Ulysse Nardin Introduces The Diver NET Signature Collection With Wempe
Wempe’s “Signature Collection” showcases limited edition timepieces created in collaboration with renowned watch manufacturers. The latest release, the Diver NET, continues this tradition, highlighting Ulysse Nardin’s expertise in high-tech, sustainable materials. This partnership combines Wempe’s commitment to excellence with Ulysse Nardin’s pioneering spirit in watchmaking.
The Diver NET boasts a 44mm case constructed from 95% recycled stainless steel. The brancards and case back are made from Nylo® (60%) and Carbonium® (40%), materials that reflect Ulysse Nardin’s dedication to sustainability. Nylo®, a polyamide derived from upcycled fishing nets, and Carbonium®, a material produced from carbon fibers used in aircraft manufacturing, reduce the environmental impact and enhance the watch’s durability and lightness. Carbonium® also imparts a distinctive marbling effect to the unidirectional rotating bezel, making the Diver NET not only environmentally friendly but also visually striking and comfortable to wear.
The Diver NET is powered by the self-winding caliber UN-118, equipped with a date display and power-reserve indicator. This movement features an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring, escape wheel, and a Diamonsil®-coated pallet, ensuring at least 60 hours of operation with increased accuracy and reduced maintenance needs. These technological advancements underscore Ulysse Nardin’s commitment to precision and reliability.
The Diver NET’s design prioritizes readability and durability. The matte-black dial features white luminescent hour markers and hands, with orange luminescent material on the small seconds dial and power-reserve indicator. This contrast ensures clear visibility in all lighting conditions. The watch is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, enhancing its robustness and clarity.
“Wempe and Ulysse Nardin have a long-standing history,” says Kim Eva Wempe, Owner and Managing Director of Wempe. “Our collaboration dates back to the 1950s when Ulysse Nardin supplied us with essential components, solidifying a bond that continues to this day. This partnership is a testament to our shared values and dedication to craftsmanship.”
“We are proud to partner with Wempe,” adds Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Ulysse Nardin. “This collaboration brings forth the exclusive Diver NET Wempe Signature Collection timepiece, blending innovative materials with contemporary design.”
The Diver NET Wempe Signature Collection timepiece is limited to just 75 pieces, each individually numbered on the dial and sapphire crystal case back, which also bears the Wempe Signature Collection logo.
