The Audemars Piguet AP House In Los Angeles Officially Opens Its Doors
As teased earlier this summer, the highly-anticipated opening of the Audemars Piguet AP House in Los Angeles has officially happened. On the heels of the first opening of its kind in the United States in New York’s Meatpacking District, the new West Coast concept is nestled in the heart of West Hollywood, on the iconic Sunset Boulevard, joining the prestigious line-up of local and international locations, each designed to epitomize the brand’s experiential approach to luxury retail.

The AP House Los Angeles boasts over 6,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor penthouse space, perfectly situated on Sunset Boulevard. This storied location is not only a cultural epicenter but also an iconic hub for entertainment and hospitality, stretching over 22 miles from Downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway. Audemars Piguet’s choice of this location combines historical richness with a commitment to both heritage and innovation.

For the interior design of the AP House Los Angeles, Audemars Piguet turned to the talented Brigette Romanek of Romanek Design Studio. Known for her eccentric yet elegant interiors, Romanek’s vision echoes the meticulous craftsmanship of Haute Horlogerie. She reimagined the space as a spirited interpretation of the Swiss village of Le Brassus, where Audemars Piguet has its roots dating back to 1875, through a Southern California lens.
The interior design is an amalgamation of carefully selected materials, textures, and colors, drawing inspiration from the quintessential coolness of Los Angeles. Layered wood, velvet, mohair, colored glass, and brass in shades of beige and green come together to create an inviting atmosphere, paying homage to the Vallée de Joux, Audemars Piguet’s home.

The AP House Los Angeles offers a gateway to the world of Audemars Piguet. It houses a watchmaking studio, a unique feature in the Americas, where clients can immerse themselves in the intricate world of Haute Horlogerie. A full-time watchmaker is on hand to service timepieces and offer masterclasses on watch mechanisms.

The space also features lounges, including an oak-paneled gallery for showcasing novelties and current collection timepieces. The brand’s strong ties to music, contemporary art, and gastronomy are evident in the space, which includes a curated vinyl station, a DJ booth, and musical instruments hand-picked by world-renowned musicians.
Contemporary artworks on display are lent by François Ghebaly Gallery, a prominent fixture in the Los Angeles art scene and a partner of Audemars Piguet’s contemporary art commissioning program, Audemars Piguet Contemporary. These artworks underscore the brand’s commitment to fostering creative collaborations.

The concept of the AP House is rooted in the founders’ forward-thinking approach to hospitality in the 19th century. Inspired by how Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet would tend to their clients in the 21st century, the AP House concept is a sophisticated space where comfort and relationships take center stage. It is designed as an authentic home away from home for Audemars Piguet enthusiasts, offering a luxurious and immersive experience.

With Brigette Romanek’s expert vision, we have thoughtfully designed a beautiful sanctuary and full-scale watchmaking experience,” notes Ginny Wright, the newly-appointed Audemars Piguet’s Chief Executive Officer of the Americas.
