Going Green For St.Patrick’s Day

If I had written this article a couple of years back, I would have said that green was a trend color, but this is not the case anymore. Many brands have not only adopted green as a staple color within their collection but also make many different types of watches with this color. From classic dress watches and utilitarian pilots to diving watches and sporty chronographs, green is here to stay, and what better day to wear a green watch than on St.Patrick's Day?

Take The Plunge With These Deep Dive Watches

There are plenty of top-tier timepiece brands that have at least one diving watch in their collection. However, there are some watchmakers that also make deep dive watches that can withstand extreme pressures. Granted, dive watches are able to go deeper than humans can ever go and deep-diving watches have depth ratings that can only be described as absurd. But, over-engineering is one of the beauties of modern mechanical watches—it’s not a matter of necessity but rather, possibility. With that in mind, here are three deep dive watches that are proudly depth-defying.

The 92nd edition of the Academy Awards was an exciting one. The Hollywood elite gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, as history was made. The winners might have surprised some people, but with a very strong line-up of contenders, it was sometimes also hard to predict who would win one of those coveted statues.

Punchy Petites: Smaller Versions of Well-Known Luxury Watches

For those of us with slender wrists, there has been a welcomed trend in the luxury watch space towards smaller timepieces. When wristwatches first became a thing at the turn of the 20th Century, they were small. However, as we approached the new millennium, watches gradually became larger and larger. Thankfully, some brands have caught on that not everyone can successfully pull-off oversized timepieces and have introduced smaller versions of well-known luxury watches. Here are some of our favorites right now.

Breitling Introduces The Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition

In the luxury watch realm, there are a handful of icons that go by a single name without needing a reminder of which brand makes it—and the legendary Navitimer is most certainly one of them. Launched in 1952 with a slide-rule bezel to compute complex navigational calculations, the Navitimer was designed with professional pilots in mind. A particularly popular vintage Navi is the “All-Black” 806 from 1959. So to celebrate 60 years of that cult classic, Breitling presented the Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition.
