Perhaps the focal point of the new repertoire debuted at the esteemed exhibition was the 5308P-010 Tokyo 2023 Quadruple Complication, complete with the 42mm platinum signature salmon dial. Living true to its name as a quadruple complication, Ref. 5308P-010 combines a minute repeater, splits-seconds chronograph, and instantaneous perpetual calendar, becoming the ultimate timepiece for watch collectors and enthusiasts. The new timepiece is actually a derived version of the triple complication reference from 2011, Ref. 5208, which boasted a minute repeater, chronograph, and instantaneous perpetual calendar.

Limited to just 15 pieces,  Ref. 5308P-010 is a horological wonder equipped with an updated movement from its predecessor, in-house Caliber R CHR 27 PS QI, which is comprised of nearly 800 parts, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (vph), and offering a power reserve of 48 hours. Every component is meticulously hand-finished, reflecting Patek Philippe’s unwavering commitment to excellence. The mini-rotor, crafted in platinum, enables unidirectional winding. This exceptional movement incorporates a Gyromax balance and a Spiromax balance spring made of Silinvar. The balance spring stud is adjustable, ensuring precise timekeeping. Its functions include displaying hours and minutes, while the minute repeater chimes on two classic gongs. Furthermore, it boasts a monopusher split-seconds chronograph with 60-minute and 12-hour counters, along with a small seconds subdial. Impressively, the movement also features an instantaneous perpetual calendar exhibiting day, date, month, leap year, and day/night indications through apertures. Adding to its allure, a moon phase complication graces the timepiece. To attest to its exceptional quality, the movement bears the prestigious Patek Philippe Seal hallmark.

While Ref. 5308P-010 is undeniably a horological technical feat for the industry, it also possesses all of the signature Patek aesthetics, maintaining the style of the watch in parallel with the brand’s understated sophistication. The salmon dial is complemented by its chocolate brown alligator leather strap.
