Hands-On With The New Hublot Big Bang Ferrari

Ferrari recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in the United States market with a historic display of its most iconic Prancing Horses on Rodeo Drive, including the newly released limited-edition F60 America.

For Hublot, who is the Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of Ferrari and Scuderia Ferrari, the week-end was also the perfect occasion to introduce the Hublot Big Bang “Ferrari Limited Edition 60th anniversary in North America.”

It’s not the first Ferrari-themed watch from Hublot. You may remember our recent close-up of the Big Bang Ferrari Ceramic, for example. So what’s new? The timepiece features the USA’s colors, which were also prevalent in the new Ferrari, with indices in matte blue, and decals in red and white. The case is made from black carbon fiber case and showcases the in-house flyback chronograph UNICO movement visible through the sapphire dial. The case back of the watch also features the Ferrari USA 60th Anniversary logo, and the words “Special Edition,” engraved in red around the movement.

The iconic HUB1241 UNICO movement needs no more introduction, and is to Hublot what Ferrari engines are to the car manufacturer, designed and developed in-house, and trusted to power the most exceptional models. This one boasts 72 hours of power reserve.

An indexed crown with Hublot’s ‘H’ logo automatically positioning itself to remain in line) features elongated push buttons, fixed along a rotating axis like the pedals in a car whilst carbon inserts give the case distinctive look. That and Ferrari’s prancing horse logo of course.

Each timepiece comes with two interchangeable straps, blue Schedoni leather stitched onto black rubber, with an innovative quick-change system inspired by the safety seatbelt mechanism.

The white stitching is a nod to the signature upholstery craftsmanship typical of Ferrari. Limited to 60 pieces, the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari USA 60th Anniversary ref. 401.QX.0123.VR.FSX14 watch is priced at $33,200.
