The Short Answer

The newest additions to this collection fuse fashion and haute horlogerie. See our exclusive photos of the Mademoiselle Privé Decor Coromandel and more...

For most watch people, their first introduction to Chanel’s collections usually begins with the J12 or Première models. But very soon the proud owner of these beautiful accessories discovers that the fashion house boasts other, more sophisticated collections developed in collaboration with skilled jewelers, enamelists, varnishers, engravers, carvers, and sometimes even embroiderers.

So by the time you might buy your second or third Chanel piece, you’ll be looking at the Mademoiselle Privé collection, a fine example of refined watchmaking. This year, a new ensemble of superbly decorated models was added to this series. Here is an exclusive look at a few of our favorites from this collection:

The Mademoiselle Privé Decor Coromandel line features three grand feu enamel pieces with miniatures in chinoiserie style and sculpted mother of pearl showcasing Chanel’s inspiration from the traditional Japanese art.

However, the most memorable models have been created in close cooperation with La Maison Lesage, a French embroidery atelier. They feature black textile dials embroidered with gold thread and decorated with pearl, gold and silver tinsel.
