Close Up: F.P. Journe Historical Anniversary Tourbillon

Today we’re taking a close up look at the Historical Anniversary Tourbillon by F.P. Journe. This 99-piece limited edition timepiece is a re-interpretation of François-Paul Journe’s first pocket watch, which was completed in 1983.

The Historical Anniversary Tourbillon features the same materials as Journe’s original creation: a case in guilloche silver, enhanced by 2 gold bezels in rose gold 4N. The 32.6mm case houses a grained silver dial with filled roman numerals and a steel hour circle. The hours are indicated by Breguet-blue steel hands.

Behind a hinged caseback cover the manual winding Calibre 1412 tourbillon movement is visible. Identical to the 1983 original, the movement is a classic construction made in grained and gilded brass. The tourbillon revolution is completed in 60 seconds. Rather than the key used for winding and time setting on the original pocketwatch, the Historical Anniversary Tourbillon features a crown at 3 o’clock crown.

The Historical Anniversary Tourbillon will retail for $99,000.
