Chronoswiss Shifts Into Higher Gear With New Regulator Classic Carbon Racer

Chronoswiss is especially known for its exquisite collection of regulator timepieces. This collection of bold creations now takes a new turn as it shifts into higher gear with the Regulator Classic Carbon Racer. For this watch, Chronoswiss is getting its inspiration from the world of motorsports and uses it by taking a new approach to the signature regulator dial.

It now features a carbon fiber dial, in which the two subdials for hours and seconds are placed. The hour subdial has a beautiful center with guilloche details, while the font of the numbers looks like that of a speedometer. This dynamic is amplified by the subdial for the seconds, as this shows part of the movement through a cutout of the dial. Although very subtle, it does add something to the overall design of the dial. The same can also be said of the red details, which give this watch even more the exhilarating feeling that always is such a vital part of the world of motorsports.

New is also the shape of the hands, which Chronoswiss called ‘Trigono,’ and which perfectly match with the rest of the dial design. They are filled in with Super-LumiNova, so that even when you take the Regulator Classic Carbon Racer on a late-night run, you know what time it is. During day time, one will also be appreciative of the sapphire crystal, which has a double anti-reflective coating, which reduces glare and makes it easy to read under nearly all light conditions.

This Chronoswiss is fitted with a 41mm large, stainless steel case. The perfect size, as it is large enough to be read with ease and make an impression, but not too large so that it feels uncomfortable when driving. The height of 12.7mm also significantly contributes to this. The new dial design works surprisingly well with the classic design of the case, with its knurling on the bezel and distinct onion crown. It breathes the air of high-performance sports cars of a similar pedigree.

The Regulator Classic Carbon Racer is fitted with Chronoswiss caliber C.295, an automatic movement with stop seconds, which can be admired through the see-through caseback. This Chronoswiss is also a real sports watch, as it is water-resistant up to 10 bar. It is offered on a comfortable and beautifully finished stainless steel bracelet, but also on a rubber strap, with both underscoring the dynamic appearance of the watch.
