Jump-hour watches are quite challenging to make. The reason for this is that this type of complication is rather volatile. For an entire hour, power is build-up, which releases in a fraction of a second. The hour must jump instantly and stop in exactly the right position, as even the slightest misalignment is clearly visible. The secret to this lies in the Quatro technology of Chopard, in which four mainspring barrels are stacked and coupled in series.
