The Salon Internationale de Haute Horlogerie, or SIHH, featured this year again a stunning line-up of the most beautiful watches. More then recent years the brands seem to be in touch with their own DNA, which resulted in a very pure watches that truly represented their brand, rather than just a trend. In such a company it is hard to call favorites, yet there where still some watches that grabbed our attention just a bit more than others.

Van Cleef & Arpels presented a number of exceptional timepieces led by the Lady Arpels Planétarium for women and the Midnight Heure d’Ici & Heure d’Ailleurs for men

Introduced by Piaget's new brand ambassador, supermodel Doutzen Kroes, the brand has taken its famed Possession collection to the next level. It does so by giving it a slightly more polished and smooth, and releasing some exciting new varieties!

Being A. Lange & Söhne comes with expectations, and at this years SIHH, the brand had once again no trouble meeting, and even exceeding, them! The beauty is that for this they used the full extent of their collection, paying homage to the perseverance, and excellent taste, of the man who resurrected A. Lange & Söhne to its current glory, Walter Lange, as well as introduce a unique complication!

There is a certain irony to it, but when you say Panerai, the first watch that comes to mind with most people is the basic Luminor. While it sits on the lower tiers of Panerai's collection, regarding complexity and price, it is a watch that remains very close to the original DNA of the brand. During this years SIHH, Panerai introduced a six new versions of the Luminor Logo, all powered by a new manufacture caliber.

The 2018 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, also known as SIHH, offers many highlights, and not in the least due to the many new watches that are introduced, of which Richard Mille's new RM 53-01 Tourbillon made for polo champion Pablo Mac Donough is one of the most exciting ones!

Vacheron Constantin is not just releasing just a few new models this edition of the SIHH, but an entire array of complicated masterpieces! It starts with a whole new collection, the FIFTYSIX, which is inspired on Vacheron Constantin's reference 6073, which the brand launched in 1956. Elegant yet masculine lines envoke the style of this era, and transform it into the 21st century. The FIFTYSIX will be available in three different varieties, a date model, one featuring day of the week, date, power-reserve indicator, and the final version features a complete calendar with precision moon phase.

As a brand, Ulysse Nardin has a strong connection to the oceans. This is not only evident from the many nautical watches in their collection, but also from their diving collection. With the Diver Deep Dive, they now go even further, offering a watch with a water resistance of 1.000 meters.

Hublot never sits still, and while Baselworld is the usual epicenter of the brand to introduce new watches, they don't let that limit their sense of innovation. Also this week in Geneva Hublot introduced some watches that pay once again tribute to the "Art of Fusion", expanding existing collections in extraordinary ways!

While MB&F can be a brand of radical changes, with horological creations that often tantalize the senses of watch connoisseurs by boldly going where no watch brand has gone before, they are also the brand of evolution. Once another whole new creation leaves they workshops they take time to explore the possibilities of this model, often with a little help from their friends.
