By Martin Green It is hard to surpass a watch like the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon. Its style is subtle, yet distinctly Bulgari, Roman flair combined with the finest in Swiss watchmaking. That last part, that remarkable ultra-thin tourbillon, with a height of only 1.95 mm has always been hidden behind a dial with only an opening for the tourbillon. That is now about to change with the new skeleton version of this extraordinary watch.

For Ulysse Nardin, it was the first time that they exhibited at the SIHH, but they sure made an impact. Various novelties were introduced and among them a stunning new Regatta Timer. While available as part of the regular collection featuring a white or blue dial, it was the limited edition that Ulysse Nardin makes for Artemis that caught especially our attention. Ulysse Nardin used the experience and input of two yachtsmen of the Swedish team, Loïck Peyron, and Iain Percy, to create this unique watch.

By Martin Green Time flies when having fun! That certainly goes for Urwerk, who celebrates this year its 20th anniversary and does so with the UR-T8 which they launched at the SIHH. The brand has come a long way in those twenty years, creating watches like the UR-103, UR-1001 and the EMC Time-Hunter. A signature feature of many of them are of course the three cone shaped discs indicating both the hour as well as the minutes, brought together by a stroke of genius. Of course, this complication is also present in the UR-T8, because what would a 20th-anniversary piece be without it?

This year at SIHH 2017, the brand stands true -- unveiling a one-of-a-kind watch that is the brand's most complicated wristwatch to date (It even tops the current holder of the title "most complicated wristwatch" currently on the market). The Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600 was five years in the making and offers an incredible 23 functions via its two-sided dial
