Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is the Master Grand Complication by Jaeger-leCoultre.
This limited edition timepiece represents the craftsmanship, design and style that Jaeger-leCoultre is known for, joining together three complications – a minute repeater, flying tourbillon and a zodiacal calendar. Powered by the Jaeger-leCoultre Calibre 945 hand-wound movement with a 48-hour power reserve, The Master Grand functions include hours, minutes, a tourbillon, Voute celeste, a minute repeater, month and 24-hour display.
The white gold case is 46.7mm and is set with two rows of baguette diamonds. 294 diamonds and 64 sapphires adorn this timepieces, totalling 20.7 carats in all. The mesmerizing dial is gem-set aventurine and features a flying tourbillon which orbits a chart modeled after the sky of the Northern Hemisphere. A sun also orbits the rim of the dial in 24-hour revolutions and the zodiac signs, days and months appear on a circular scale which surrounds the dial. Let’s not forget the two crystal gongs of the minute repeater!
