The Short Answer

The newest addition to the Clifton Family, this timepiece truly represents Baume & Mercier's watchmaking history, paying homage The Baume & Co Tourbillon Chronometer.

Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is the Clifton 1892 Flying Tourbillon by Baume & Mercier.

The newest addition to the Clifton Family, this timepiece truly represents Baume & Mercier’s watchmaking history, paying homage The Baume & Co Tourbillon Chronometer. The piece was awarded the most accurate in the world at the 1892 Kew Teddington Observatory chronometer competition, and a title Baume & Mercier held for a decade after.

The 1892 Clifton Flying Tourbillon features an 18k red gold, 45.5mm case and is powered by a Calibre P951 manual-winding movement produced by The Val Fleurier Manufacture, owned by Richemont as well.

The beautiful silvered dial features gold hands, numerals and markers along with a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock and the tourbillon at 9 o’clock. The newest addition to the Clifton collection is fitted with an elegant blue alligator strap and gold buckle.

The 1892 Clifton Flying Tourbillon is part of a Limited Collection of 30 pieces produced by Baume & Mercier.IMG_1003
