Jacob & Co. is a jewellery and watch house founded in New York in 1986 by Jacob Arabo, an Uzbekistan-born diamond designer, and now headquartered in Geneva with its watchmaking in Switzerland. It became known first for gem-setting and celebrity jewellery, then rebuilt itself as a high-complication watchmaker: the Astronomia, launched in 2014, carries a triple-axis gravitational tourbillon with orbiting satellites for the dial, and the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon houses a working miniature sixteen-cylinder engine. The brand is unusual in combining serious complicated movements with maximalist design and full-pave gem work in the same reference.
