Haute Time Visits Breguet Boutique in New York

Last week Haute Time had the chance to visit the Breguet boutique in New York City. Located on Fifth Avenue, one of the city’s most famous shopping streets, the boutique housed some amazing novelties.

Here’s an exclusive look at a few of our favorites:

Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin

This ultra-thin timepiece, which made its debut at BaselWorld 2013, boasts a self-winding extra-thin tourbillon movement housed in a 7mm thick case. The 42mm diameter 18K rose gold case showcases the off-centre tourbillon. The dial is 18K gold, silvered and
engine-turned in four different patterns, with small seconds on the tourbillon and 90-hour power reserve indicator at 8:30. The Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin is individually numbered and signed BREGUET. $149,500, reference 5377BR129WU.

Reine de Naples Day/Night

This 40.05 x 32mm 18K rose gold ladies’ timepiece features a bezel, dial flange and crown all set with diamonds. The 18K gold, silvered and engine-turned dial features flame and barleycorn patterns, with hours and minutes on the lower dial and a day/night indicator on the upper dial. The Breguet balance-wheel represents the sun, while the moon is engraved on a titanium disc; they rotate together in 24 hours. The Reine de Naples Day/Night is completed by a satin strap with three-blade clasp. $12,300, reference 8998BB11874D00D.

Type XXII in Rose Gold

The case of this 44mm 18K rose gold timepiece features a two-way rotating bezel with 60-minute scale. The brown dial features a chapter ring with Arabic numerals and luminous hands and hour-markers, as well as a host of complications; a red chronograph’s seconds hand on a 30-second basis at the centre, half-minute totalizer at the centre, 24 hour indicator at 3 o’clock, second time zone indicator at 6 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and a date aperture at 6 o’clock. $35,500, reference 3880BRZ29XV.

Classique Chronométrie

This 41mm 18K rose gold timepiece features the hand-wound calibre 574DR, which – thanks mainly to its balance frequency of 10Hz – gives this watch high precision and reliability. The dial is 18K gold, silvered and engine-turned in six different patterns, with off-centre Roman numeral hours and minutes, small seconds at 12 o’clock, 10ths of a second at 1 o’clock, power-reserve indicator at 5 o’clock and pare-chute visible at 2 o’clock. $40,000, reference 7727.

Marine Royale Chronograph

This 45mm 18K rose gold timepiece, which is a Breguet Boutique Exclusive, boats a self-winding movement with alarm mechanism. A security ratchet for the unidirectional bezel is located at 3 o’clock, with an alarm on/off push-piece at 8 o’clock and an alarm setting push-piece at 4 o’clock. The brown rhodium gold dial features a triangular hand at the center for setting the alarm time, as well as an alarm power-reserve indication in an aperture between 9 and 11 o’clock, alarm on/off indicator at 12 o’clock, and date at 6 o’clock. $61,800, reference 5847ERZ5RZ0.
