The Girard-Perregaux ww.tc world timer, which stands for “world wide time control,” is one of the few world timers that takes a theme. The first one, introduced in 2007 had a pre-crash theme of World Finance, highlighting the four world cities with important stock exchanges – New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. There have been several manifestations since then, including the all-black ww.tc Shadow and the ww.tc Small Second. The latest in the series has a definitive post-crash aesthetic – unadorned and minimalist, with a black and white theme. It has been redesigned, with new case and lugs and the addition of a crown protector, which makes a big difference to the look. Another innovation is the single screwed crown at 3 o’clock that regulates all the functions. It has three notches to control the time settings: the first position sets the city index, the second sets the date and the third sets the time, the minute and the 24 hour ring. The movement is the manufacture caliber GP03300, driving hours, minutes, small seconds, day/night indication, chronograph, date and a 24-city world timer. The improvements are all good, making this a functional, more sporty watch.![]()
